Meng Yu Chiang

เม่ง ยู่ เชียง คือร้านขายส่งผ้าย้อมที่กาดหลวง จังหวัดเชียงใหม่ มีประวัติศาสตร์ของครอบครัวตั้งแต่รุ่นอากงอาม่าที่มาลงหลักปักฐานที่กาดหลวง เริ่มทำงานรับจ้างขนของทั่วไป จากนั้นรุ่นพ่อก็เริ่มทำธุรกิจย้อมผ้า แล้วรุ่นลูกจึงแตกแบรนด์มาทำต่อ ขยายตลาดออกไปสู่คนรุ่นใหม่มากขึ้น

เราใช้เรื่องราวของตระกูลเขานี่เองมาเริ่มทำโลโก้ แบ่งเป็นสามช่วงตามจังหวะพยางค์ของชื่อร้าน ตั้งแต่เริ่มอพยพมาที่กาดหลวง รับจ้างขนของ จนถึงย้อมผ้าส่งขายในปัจจุบัน ใช้ฟอร์มของตราประทับประจำตระกูลที่เคยเห็นในหนังจีนนำมาปรับให้ร่วมสมัยขึ้น

จากนั้นจึงพัฒนาตัวอักษรภาษาไทยจากตัวโป้งไม้ให้ได้บรรยากาศย้อนยุค รวมถึงอัตลักษณ์อื่นๆ ที่คุมให้อยู่ในบรรยากาศเดียวกัน ทั้งนามบัตรและหัวจดหมาย

Meng Yu Chiang is a dyeing fabric stored located at Kad Luang, Chiang Mai. The history of this shop dated back to the grandparents who moved from China to Thailand several decades ago. However, it was the father’s generation that began dyeing business and expanded to the dyeing fabric brand in the following generation.

Our idea began with the family’s stories and the design was divided into three parts according to the store’s name, adding a modern twist based on the Chinese family stamp in the old days. Other elements were also based on the same concept, including the business card and the letterhead.
